The best weekend Duluth has to offer!

You now know my feelings on Grandma's weekend here in Duluth! I love the atmosphere, the people and, of course, the race. The Wing's arrived last Thursday and we spent the afternoon catching up and getting to know their adroable little girl Lilly. Friday morning I hosted a playdate to introduce Lilly and Kari to all my super mommy friends, then it was nap time and packet pick up before heading to a friend's house for a pre-race supper.

The race went fairly well. I keep telling people, "my body just wouldn't go any faster, my lungs were fine but I couldn't go any faster". I finished in 2:00:51 which is remarkable to me and I'm very happy with that time. It was awesome to run along side friends, wave to friends cheering and kiss my three best boys as I passed them at Lake Ave. Although this was the toughest race for me yet, I hope to be running it again next year with Dan and Kari(you go girl!). Dan had both boys dressed, fed and down to Lake Ave. by 7:15am to cheer me on...what a trooper!

Connor and Liam are loving summer. We play in the pool out back almost daily, have taken several walks on the Lakewalk and meet up with all our friends once a week at various parks around Duluth.

Summer is upon us and what better time to sit back, put your feet up and enjoy a popsicle while the kids play in the sun?!?!

My sister delivered Benjamin Claussen early this evening, via c-section. He was, wait for it...12 POUNDS 6 OUNCES!!! I think thats the size of the Thansgiving turkey we bought last year! She is amazing to have grown and carried that big boy...wow! Both are doing wonderful and I will post a picture when i get one. Can't wait to meet grandchild #10.

The Wings are coming!

It was another crazy week here in Doyleville but as always we managed to get a few things done and share a few laughs. Connor was in the doctor's office again last week with a sore throat, fever and the flu and we left with a "looks like mono" diagnosis. Hope this is the last blow of the season. Liam continues to grow and change daily. He is sitting up on his own and just popped another tooth today-three already! He and Connor have the most precious relationship. Connor shows him books, rolls him over whenever he can to share tummy time, and gets him to giggle better than Dan or I can. We are blessed beyond words!
Dan and I finished a few projects at the rental properties and finally cleared out the garage to allow both of us to park in there. Several young moms I know decided to start a book club and last week was our first meeting. I am eager to read something other than Brown Bear, Brown Bear! We are also countin down the days until our dear friends the Wings arrive for Grandma's Marathon. They, and their adoreable daughter Lilly, will be staying with us for three days and Aaron and I will run the race together Saturday morning. Lilly is a week younger than Liam but we haven't met her yet...we can't wait!!!

We finished the weekend attending a friend's wedding in Virginia and the boys had their first sleep over together at Grandma and Papa's. It was nice to sleep in a bit this morning but of course we both missed the boys like crazy.

Dan-Happy Father's Day! You are truely an amazing father. It brings me so much joy to watch you laugh, play and teach our boys. Your dedication and love for them is incredible. They are both so lucky to have you. We love you!!

Not for Sale!

We decluttered the house and managed to make a couple bucks this weekend as we hosted our first garage sale. Finally we can both park in the garage and we are planning a rockstar date with the money we made! Of course our most prized possesions had no price tag!

Big news was made official this week that my little sister will be moving in with us the 1st of July. She is taking a break from life to come hang out and regroup. We all can't wait-especially Connor who adores her!

Liam is still working on solid foods, is sitting up on his own for long periods of time and is generally happy all the time(yes!). Connor got sick, again!, with double ear infections and a swollen lymph node early last week and finished out the weekend with the flu...he's been hit hard this winter and spring. Hopefully he is feeling better tomorrow so we can go outisde and play.

Dan is busy turning over the rentals for new tenants and of course fixing odds and ends around our house. He has yet to hit the golf course but with a little compromising maybe this week. I am busy with playdates and anticipating my sisters arrival as Dan and I really need a date night!!
Happy Summer!!!

It's summer!!!

Summer is finally here!! We spent much of the weekend playing outside on the swing set(s) and with the neighbors. It was great to have nothing planned.
We are working on sleep this week with both boys. Liam is no longer sleeping in the car seat and gets up just once a night to eat. We are letting him "cry it out" around 8 when we put him down and he is responding well(first night was 45 minutes, tonight 7!!). Connor is in his bed and has slept there all night every night this week. Although against everything I once believed, he gets a cookie if he stays in bed all night long-whatever works!! Dan and I are both functioning much better with more than 2 hours of solid sleep.

Other happenings this week:
Connor can count to 10
Liam played in the grass for the first time
We went to the lake to put our feet in and throw rocks
Playfront park with ECFE
Connor held his first bug
Connor got into the diaper cream while he was supposed to be sleeping

We have a big week ahead of us getting ready for our garage sale. Connor also has his last week of daycare at Lisa's and ECFE. Enjoy the sun!!

Classic older brother move!

My hungry, hungry hippo!!
