Eat my dust

I don't normally post clips longer than 30 seconds but I finally got one of Liam scooting this morning and it took about a minute. He is just starting to get up on all fours but has yet to make the next daring move. So he army crawls around the house just like his big brother did when he was this age. Its only a matter of time now folks!!

Two birthday candles?

Connor is 2! This still looks and sounds unbelievable to Dan and I. We had so much fun planning and throwing his "power tool" themed party last Saturday. Friends and family gathered for fun in the sun with swimming pools, a messy project and lots of yummy cake. We all had a great day, Connor especially, and he hasn't stopped playing with the gifts he received. We think Auntie Mary might have pulled through with best gift: a metal, bigger than he is, Tonka tractor that he adores. Nice work!! It was so much fun celebrating Connor's big day.
Sunday after Dan left for Chicago, Mary and I took the boys to the cabin for another day in the sun. We jet skied and water skied, played in the lake and relaxed in the sun. We hope to get out there more often throughout the duration of the summer.

O-ma-ha-ha!!

This past weekend the "D-Unit"(that is what Dan, Mary and I have titled ourselves) decided to hop in the car and head to Omaha. My dad joined a hockey league at age 54 and was set to star in his first game...cue the D-Unit showing up! We drove all night, with two kids sleeping, and got to sun bath, visit the children's museum, golf(dan) and of course, cheer on my dad in his game. He had 4 shots on goal, no penalties and stayed on his skates the whole time. He did great!!! The drive was exhausting but as a unit, the D-Unit(said in a deep, "Run DMC" voice), we have no regrets. Enjoy the pictures from our trip!!
*Oh ya, Happy 7 months Liam!!

Uhm DUH!!

The first week with our "live-in" nanny has been fabulous!! Mary and I have completed several mini-projects and past due errands but left plenty of time for fun in the sun. We walk the Lakewalk almost daily(with my new awesome stroller), went to the Children's Museum Saturday, the Zoo today, and have attended several play groups. She is amazing in my kitchen; cleaning, doing dishes and preparing meals. She helps with the boys and is just nice to have around for great company.
The boys have learned/done several things since she arrived:
Connor - "uhm DUH!" his new favorite one liner, "noodle, doodle", playing in aunties car, first face painting, first zoo visit, and he can't wait each morning for her to come upstairs and play!
Liam - lets her hold him, began scooting, got his 2 front teeth, almost sleeping through the night, eating solid foods(graham crackers, corn, fruit), attended first birthday party
They love having her here, as do we, and we look forward to making memories and sharing laughs in the next few months.

Cabin Family Weekend + one amazing guest!

1. Connor jet skiing 2. Liam eating veggies 3. Brotherly LOVE 4. Tubby time, cabin-style 5. The boys enjoying a morning snack in the tent before getting dressed for the day. 6. Auntie Mary and Connor at the Lake this morning.
This past weekend the 4th Annual "Family Weekend" took place on Caribou Lake. Dan's parents, his siblings and all our kids gather once a year and we pitch tents, roast Tonkas and soak up the sun for three whole days. The Family Olympics, fireworks and too much swimming are a few other things we enjoyed this weekend. Dan and I decided to take the challenge of sleeping in a tent with 2 under two. Although it was rough(why did we pick July 4th again?), after the first night we vowed to bear through it, take a picture and tell our boys in 30 years how awesome we were to put up with them in a tent for three days.

Connor took several trips out on the jet ski(mostly screaming "slow down daddy!"), learned to hammer nails into logs and stayed up late with Dan to watch firework over the lake. Liam is getting more teeth!!, slept pretty well in a tent for the first time and swam, swam, swam in the kiddie pool with cousins. The reality of having two young kids at a cabin all weekend was certainly felt by both Dan and I but somehow we managed to come home with great memories, good laughs and dark tans...can't wait until next year!!

Upon arriving home we were greeted by my little sister who has come to live with us for some 6 months. Both boys were hopped up until 10pm playing with her and it all started again early this morning when Connor realized she was down stairs. We are so excited to have her here with us!!

New "tooth" trick

Liam popped his 4th tooth this week and is loving the tiny tooth brush we got him. He chews and sucks on it each night as the rest of us brush our own teeth. Connor's godmother Erin will be so proud to read this as she is our favorite dentist. Here's to many years of happy, healthy teeth!!

Oh ya...appartently the mascara bottle can no longer be used as a distraction while I get ready in the morning!!!
